PLYMOUTH – Registration is now open for the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center’s 2021 History Symposium on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9-3 p.m. at the Plymouth Arts Center.
“Relevance & Resurrection, Revivalism for New Explorations into Midwest History” will feature presentations from four scholars on a diverse range of topics.
2021 History Symposium topics:
“The 19th Century Battle over Great Lakes Infrastructure,” presented by Dr. Theodore J. Karamanski of Loyola University, Chicago
“The Ku Klux Klan and its Targets in the Midwest,” presented by Dr. Michael D. Jacobs of UW-Platteville, Baraboo campus
“Reviving the Midwestern Progressive Tradition in the 1980s,” presented by Dr. Cory Haala, a visiting Assistant Professor of History in The Honors College at the University of Houston
“Wisconsin Native American Effigy Mounds,” presented by Dr. Robert Birmingham, author and former Wisconsin State Archaeologist
