"Shine On: a holiday tree festival" is a fundraiser for RCS Empowers.

SHEBOYGAN – RCS Empowers will be holding its 5th annual “Shine On: a holiday tree festival” fundraising event Friday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m.-2p.m. at 1607 Geele Ave. in Sheboygan.

Friday will include a VIP in-person experience with decorated holiday trees, wreaths, garlands and other specialty items which will be auctioned at RCSshineon.com. Select items will also be part of a live auction.

Saturday’s event is a free Community Day featuring live entertainment by the Sheboygan South High Jazz Band from 10-11 a.m., the Sheboygan South High Chamber Orchestra from 11-11:30 a.m., along with face painting by the Kohler High School National Honor Society from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and a visit from Mrs. Claus from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

There will also be beautifully-decorated items on display, and food and beverages available for purchase. All funds from the event will be used to develop an outdoor green space with accessible features for both RCS participants and the community to enjoy.

All purchased items will be available for pick up at RCS Empowers Wednesday, Nov. 16 through Friday Nov. 18 from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.  If you are unable to pick up your item during this time, call 920-694-1228 to make other arrangements.

Founded in 1955, RCS Empowers is a non-profit organization providing over 800 special needs participants with help finding employment, life-skills classes, art therapy and various after-hours activities. For more information about RCS Empowers, visit https://rcsempowers.com/.
