MANITOWOC – Nearly two dozen local and regional authors will be appearing at the first annual Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sabbatical Brewing Co., 835 S. 29th St. in Manitowoc.

The authors represent a diverse range of genres and topics, including science fiction, poetry, true crime and local history, to name a few. Their books, many of which have graced national best seller lists, will be available for purchase and signing throughout the admission-free event sponsored by Pedal Down Promotions.

“The response among authors interested in participating in our first book show and author signing has been tremendous. The show provides a great opportunity to meet and interact with many area authors, several of whom have written New York Times, USA Today and Amazon best sellers in a wide range of genres,” said Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing organizer Jeff Pederson of Pedal Down Promotions.

Sheboygan County will be well-represented at the event, with eight authors appearing. They include the city of Sheboygan’s official poet laureate Lisa Vihos (“The Lone Snake: The Story of Sofonisba Anguissola”), humorist and inspirational essayist Mary T. Wagner (“When the Shoe Fits: Essays of Love, Life and Second Chances”), science fiction fantasy and romance author S.C. Mitchell (“Xi Force” series), and children’s book writer Lee Trotta (“Wisconsin Cheese”).

Also appearing will be Sheboygan County Historical Research Center Executive Director Steven Rogstad (“Lincoln Among the Badgers”), author and photographer Lisa Lehmann (“Lake Michigan: The Wisconsin Shore”), comic book writer and editor Rodney Schroeter (“A Wisconsin Harvest, Volume II”), and theocratic dystopian fiction writer L. Maristatter (“Tiny Tin House”).

Notable authors from elsewhere in the state include Joe Verdegan, who wrote the 2020 Amazon #1 true crime best seller, “The Reformatory: Tales from Green Bay’s Maximum Security Prison,” and several books chronicling Wisconsin’s motorsports scene, and John Maino, Wisconsin Veterans Village Executive Director and veteran Green Bay TV news reporter, who wrote the 2021 book, “Fifty Strong: Four Decades of U.S. Veterans and Families Share Their Combat and Post-War Experiences.”

During the event, Sabbatical’s taproom will be open with drinks available for purchase. For more information about the Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing, contact Jeff Pederson at 920-323-7970 or
