SHEBOYGAN — After cruising to a 25-9 win in the first set, Sheboygan North's volleyball team had to battle its way to a 3-2 set win against Verona Monday night.
The Raiders were able to capitalize on Verona's slow start in the first set, but it wasn't long into the second before the Wildcats got going. Verona claimed the second set 25-13.
Both teams were finally in sync to create a back-and-forth third set that the Raiders came from just behind to win 25-22, taking a 2-1 set lead. However, a service error in the fourth later put North down 24-14. North's Taylor Bulkow was able to sideout with a solo block, but Verona landed a spike from the middle to end the set, evening the match at two each.
Elizabeth Binder tallied three kills in the fifth set alone, including the match point to give the Raiders the 15-10 win and the match.
