SHEBOYGAN — Last month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) extended its free meals program nationwide through summer of 2021. With the extension, the Sheboygan Area School District will once again be offering free grab-and-go meals to children under the age of 18.

Meals will be available at the following locations from June 21 to July 29, Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.:

  • Cooper Elementary — 2014 Cooper Avenue
  • Grant Elementary — 1528 N. 5th Street
  • Jackson Elementary — 2530 Weeden Creek Road
  • James Madison Elementary — 2302 David Avenue
  • Pigeon River Elementary — 3508 N. 21st Street
  • North High School — 2926 N. 10th Street
  • South High School — 1240 Washington Avenue
  • SASD Central Office — 830 Virginia Avenue

All locations will be closed July 5 through 8. After July 29, the only days for pickup are Aug. 4 and 11 at the SASD Central Office.

Anyone may pick up meals on behalf of their children, and all meals are intended for any child under 18. If your child is attending SASD summer school programs, athletics or other activities, breakfast and lunch will be offered as part of that program.

Individuals over 18 determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and participates in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well.
