SHEBOYGAN — Despite a second match that went into extra points, Sheboygan North's volleyball team came away with the three-set sweep over South Tuesday night.
The Raiders cruised to a 25-12 win in the first set behind eight kills from senior Lizzy Binder. The Redwings then answered with a strong start in the second set, quickly going up 17-7.
However, down 12-22, the Raiders stormed back to pull within 21-24 behind the efforts of senior Emma Adamavich, who recorded two kills and a block in the run. North put together a five-point stretch to even the score at 24.
Following two ace serves by North freshman Elle Kennedy, it was another Adamavich kill that allowed North to finish off the Redwings, 26-24.
North quickly finished off the third and final set 25-11. Binder recorded four ace serves alone in the set to help elevate the Raiders to add to her game-high 17 kills.
Adamavich recorded five kills and senior Taylor Bulkow added four for North. Junior Madeline Ognacevic and senior Corinne Pfeifer each had four kills to lead South.
