John F. Ross, 78, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday evening, February 23, 2023 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Born June 27, 1944 in Sheboygan, John was a son of the late Leonard and Lucille Roehrborn Ross. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from high school in Glendora, CA. He continued his education at the U.W. Sheboygan with an Associate of Arts degree. On February 14, 1981, he was united in marriage to Joyce Helen Herrmann Hansen at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

John owned and operated J.F. Ross & Associates for 18 years before his retirement in 2018. He previously worked at the H.C. Prange Company from 1970 to 1980 and at Kieffer Sign Company from 1985 to 2000 when he started his own business. He was a member of First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. John enjoyed traveling and loved sailing. He was a member of the Sheboygan Yacht Club where he also served as a Past Commodore.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce; his daughter, Shelly Olsen, Stanley, VA; his grandson, Tyler Olsen, Stanley, VA; his granddaughter, Dani Kelly-Lindell, Middletown, DE; his brother, Thomas (Mary) Ross; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by his step children, Kory (Audra) Hansen, Appleton, Michael (Beth) Grube, Elkton, VA, Suellen Conner, Appleton and James (Debbie) Grube, Elkton, VA; and step grandchildren, David (Ally) Wood, Little Chute, William Hansen, Appleton, MadaLynn Hansen, Appleton, Kerry Sales, Tuscon, AZ, Amanda Labrado, Phoenix, AZ and Jessica Conner, Minneapolis, MN; and many great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Carolyn Ross, and infant brother and sister, Michael and Mary.

A Celebration of Life for John will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Drive, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with John's arrangements.
