SHEBOYGAN — Some winter storms aren't bad enough to delay garbage and recycling pickup—but that doesn't guarantee pickup if you aren't following along with these tips on how to properly set out your bins in winter weather.
As roadways are decorated with snow banks at every corner, here are some tips from the City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works to ensure pickup:
• When possible, shovel an area at the front of your property line to set the carts at the curb or alley
• If your driveway is clear, set the carts at the end of the driveway
• Be sure there are at least four feet of space between any obstacles (cars, mailboxes, etc.)
• Do not leave the carts behind snowbanks. The truck's automated arms cannot reach the carts
