SHEBOYGAN — By the end of 2020, one of Sheboygan's landmarks will be nearly completely demolished.
According to Bernard R. Rammer, City and County Purchasing Agent, the Sheboygan Municipal Auditorium and Armory is on track to be "substantially completed" by the end of 2020.
At this point, most of the building has been demolished and only the western wall still stands. Once it is completely torn down, Rammer said the construction crew will begin crushing the concrete and removing the basement and foundation walls.
Once that is complete, the site will be leveled topsoiled and seeded. He said due to weather, grass seed will most likely have to wait until spring of 2021.
Demolition began in July and the exterior walls began to be torn down just last month.
