Prescription drugs

SHEBOYGAN — Sheboygan County will host three locations this weekend for Prescription Drug Take Back Day, set for Saturday, April 24.

The following sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday:

  • Sheboygan — HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, 3100 Superior Avenue
  • Plymouth — Generations, 1500 Douglas Drive
  • Random Lake — Fire Department, 718 Spring Street

The drop-offs are reserved for household waste pharmaceuticals only, no businesses will be allowed. All locations will be drive-thru, so participants are encouraged to stay in their vehicles and wear masks. A volunteer will come to your vehicle to collect the items.

Items allowed include: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications. It's recommended to bring medications in the original pill containers. You may cross your name off any labels ahead of time.

Items not accepted include: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, acids, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas) and mercury thermometers.

Liquids will be accepted, but must be in their original packaging to be accepted.
