SHERMAN — The Town of Sherman will have the opportunity to inform its Town Board if it is in favor of opening all town roads to travel by all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) this election season.

The referendum listed on this year's ballot for Sherman is non-binding, meaning no action will be taken immediately. Instead, it is an advisory referendum.

What is an advisory referendum?

A "yes" vote advises the Town Board that you are in favor of all town roads being open to travel to ATVs and UTVs. A "no" vote advises you are not.

The Town Board will take that information and move forward from there.

The results of the advisory referendum are not binding on the Town Board or the Town of Sherman.
