Black River book cover

SHEBOYGAN – The Sheboygan County Historical Research Center has announced the release of a new local history book, “A Tour of Black River, Gem of Sheboygan County” by Jim Schultz and Beth Dippel.

The book tells the unique history of Black River, an area in the town of Wilson south of the Alliant Energy power plant between South 12th Street and Lake Michigan extending to Kohler-Andrae State Park.

From Native American burial grounds and America’s first scout troop to the Star Dusk Drive-In Theater and scenic sand dunes, Black River has provided opportunities for recreation and relaxation for generations of residents and tourists alike.

“A Tour of Black River” is available for $25 plus tax at the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center, 518 Water Street in Sheboygan Falls, or online at schrc.org/shop.
