Constance Ann Stevens  1941-2018

Connie Stevens continued her journey on October 15, 2018.

Connie’s story begins on May 14th, 1941, in Fond du Lac Wisconsin, the daughter of Kathryn and Lester Herbert.

She attended Mercy School of Nursing, graduating with a degree as an RN.

Throughout her life Connie maintained a simple, yet sophisticated demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many.

Connie was joined in marriage on April 11, 1964 to a fortunate young man, John G. Stevens. The marriage was one of devotion and love lasting over 50 years. A love story full of grace, respect and utter admiration.

After her valiant fight with breast cancer in 2006, Connie’s battle resumed in 2010 with cancer that metastasized to her liver. Her remarkable strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and loving prayers of family and friends carried her through 8 additional years.

Connie’s enduring love and support was present in her dedication to the following volunteer organizations: The Agape Program sponsored by St. Nicholas Hospital, St. Nicholas Scholarship Foundations, St. Johns Parish and Rocky Knoll.

Connie possessed an incredible joy for the game of golf reveling in the contest while showing appreciation for the natural beauty it afforded. She enjoyed spending a Sunday afternoon watching the Packers or a summer day spent with the Brewers. Connie had a sincere appreciation for Art in any form possessing an inventive creative eye for interior design. Connie had a great understanding of the power of mediation and tai chi as well as respect for the healing energy of reiki. She relished an afternoon on the porch with a good book.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kent Herbert.
