Marion G. Nelson

Marion G. Nelson, age 92, of Sheboygan, died on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.  She was born in Sheboygan on February 1, 1925 the daughter of the late John and Frances Mallmann Hess.

She attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School.  On October 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Raymond Nelson at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.  Raymond preceded her in death in October of 1977.  Marion was employed in the factory and offices at Kohler Company, and was a housekeeper at Heritage Nursing Home until her retirement in 1990. 

She was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Girl Scout Leader and served in various committees at St. Peter Claver also.  Marion volunteered at Sheboygan Progressive and Meadowview Nursing Homes, and visiting with the elderly in their homes. 

Survivors include her five children, Bonnie Nelson, of Pewaukee, Sheila Nelson, of St. Cloud, MN, Steven (Linda) Nelson, of Sheboygan, Debbie (Pete) Weber, of Sheboygan Falls, Linda (Luke Weber) Nelson, of Wauwatosa; grandchildren, Rob Weber, Michelle (Chris) Wappler, Michael Nelson, Jamee (Jon) Gischia and seven great-grandchildren. Marion is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, Michael, brothers, Herbert, John and Roger and her sisters, Georgene, Magdeline, Frances, Bernadine, Marjorie, Dolores and Betty Ann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th St., Sheboygan with Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan on Sunday afternoon January 14, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a vigil at 6:00 p.m.  A visitation will also take place at church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Haven and Compassus Hospice for the loving care shown to our mother.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Marion’s name.  Online condolences may be expressed
