Roger Braun
Roger Braun, age 78, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Roger was born August 31, 1933 in Sheboygan to the late Herbert and Martha (Eckert) Braun. Roger attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Central High School in 1951. Roger proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. He was united in marriage to JoAnne Gahagan on August 24, 1963 at Sheboygan Falls Reformed Church. Roger retired from Schreier Malt and was previously employed at Vollrath Company. Roger was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and served as the president of the church council. He enjoyed volunteering at church and for Meals on Wheels. Roger was a member and served as president of the U.A.W. Local #1076 as well as the B.P.O.E. Elks #299 in Sheboygan. He enjoyed baseball and was a supporter of the Old Timers Baseball organization.
Survivors include his loving wife JoAnne, two sons Randall (Kari) Braun of Oshkosh, Tim (Cindy) Braun of the Town of Wilson, two daughters Sherri (Ron) Yandry of Saukville, Kristi Braun of Port Washington, grandchildren Evan, Madison and Samantha Braun, Ellie, Joe and Tessa Yandry, a sister Jean (Robert) Stichert of Sheboygan, brother-in-law Eugene Klebs of Rosendale, sister-in-law Mary (James) Vanderkin of Reedsburg, brother-in-law Daniel (Louise) Gahagan of Texas, sister-in-law Bette (Charles Goss) Tyler of Florida and nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother Herbert Braun Jr., sisters Elaine (Clarence) Reimer and Joan Klebs.
Family and friends may call at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1711 S. 11th Street, Sheboygan on Monday April 9, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Helen Nickel officiating. Burial to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
